Love the assignment of these proteins as filters; it really highlights how they can confer logic to each of their contexts. I’d only ever heard them referred to in the context of channels.

I was reading William Walsh’s book on Bipolar disorder… which does deep dives into neural processes. Leftover questions is where the various ions come from.
