As a microbiologist, I loved the 1905 report on bacteriological air quality in the House of Commons -- and that horse manure falling off members' boots through a grate into the chamber was a major contaminant.

Fascinating. Thank you! I'm hoping that UV-C lamp prices will drop quickly and that they're widely installed. In Napa, California where I live, virtually no one masks even at the peak of respiratory virus season. It seems much more efficient & effective for reducing infections (as well as more comfortable) to have a systemic solution rather than dumping the responsibility for healthful air on individuals.
